Well... We were looking for a to-go meal and wanted something close by. As our search went, we came across this Irish Pub, as the name it was under. Looked at the menu and wife saw Pork chops, and some other sides that sounded like a winner. So, I went to this place, located in Rex, at the Creekside Village shopping center, next to Food Depot. Turns out that the name was changed to Urban Pub Bar and Grill. I remember seeing it once before and the place was packed in the evening hours. Parking isn’t an issue due to the shopping center lot, so no worries there. Went in and it is a decent size place. The menu has changed just a bit since it was bought by another party. Still though, we could get most of what I saw of the menu online. Opted for the fried pork chop meal, added a side of fried okra, cabbage, greens and mac n cheese. It comes with 2 sides already with the meal. That was the cabbage and greens. Also added an extra chop too, it comes with just one. The chops were seasoned just right, and the crunch was tops, and still moist inside. Someone knows how to cook back in that kitchen... The greens were spicy and excellent, and the cabbage was on point too. There was a piece of smoked meat in it and it was tasty... Then the mac n cheese, it was creamy and had a slight crust on top, tasted a few types of cheese in it, I thought one was Smoked Gouda, though I didn’t ask. The okra was also fried just right, crunchy and tender. Overall, it was a hit. Lunch specials are advertised in the bar but was told that one or more may change soon. It has a Stage, and pool table area (maybe 4 total), as well as some digital slots in the same area. A juke box too. A main bar as you enter and plenty of seating. The have bands and Karaoke on certain days too. Car shows they host as well. I went during the afternoon, so it wasn’t busy at all, but nights seem to be the party time. If the food is this good, then I can be assured that the rest of the menu items are more likely to be a hit. We’ll be back for those Ribs, wings and fish meals I’ve been peepin...
There are 3 things that put this bar on top. First the atmosphere is warm and intimate. Second food impeccable. Third the bartender learn their customers and have great enthusiasm in working to make sure the customers is satisfied and feels important. The pub is the spot #noG.......lol get it
Good bar food, great service! It changed a little bit inside but still the same bar with that old familiar vibe that I've been enjoying since 1995.
Awesome place to chill with good food.
Just found this place a few months ago, and it has been a godsend. It’s close to where I work, and on those bad days when your irritated and stressed, they are always there with a relaxing atmosphere and good food. Dog friendly (which is important since my dog works with me) friendly staff, cold beer, great group of patrons. Couldn’t ask for more. Just found out they are about to get new owners, here’s to hoping the new owners keep this place the gem that it is.
My favorite bartenders name is Sunny! He's efficient, stealthy yet inviting. The place has a very picturesque vibe in a honkey tonk kind of way. But it's a very nicely mixed crowd of literally all sorts. At least three pool tables I think. Bathrooms are seedy but the drinks are ice cold and very nicely priced. Great karaoke!
